Group Training Manager

Purpose

This is an autonomous role, the purpose of which is to manage and develop the Training Business for Beancounter Australia.

Report

The position will report to Greg Thompson.

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • Ability to work autonomously with proven initiative
  • Minimum 2 years previous bookkeeping experience, at least ICB Level 3.
  • Minimum 2 years training experience
  • Financial Services qualifications at least Certificate 3 TAFE
  • Workplace Training & Assessment qualifications minimum Certificate 4
  • Proven expertise in developing training courses
  • Strong communication skills
  • Professional presentation
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing functions
  • Advanced MYOB

Preferred Skills and Attributes

  • Understanding of IT course offerings
  • Intermediate to Advanced level Microsoft office suite
  • Previous experience in business or business unit management

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Training business unit to achieve agreed financial and qualitative goals
  • Manage the delivery of Training Courses (face to face, online and correspondence)
  • Maintain accreditation standards as required by ICB and Chamber of Commerce
  • Maintain high level of MYOB knowledge and practical application
  • Assist in the marketing of Thompsons Australia and Beancounter Australia
  • Conduct accreditation tests including assessment of results
  • Monitor and report student performance

Core Hours

This position is part-time circa 2 days per week.

Salary Range

Subject to calibre of successful candidate, but as a guide, circa $60,000-90,000 full time equivalent.  Remuneration arrangements will also include performance bonus.

Administration Assistant / Training Co-ordinator

Purpose

This is a fairly autonomous role, the purpose of which is multi-faceted:

  • First point of contact
  • Administrative and personal assistant
  • Training Co-ordinator

Report

The position will report to the Supervisor Bookkeeping, but also through to Tracy Jordan, Group Accounting Services Manager on Training functions. In addition, this position will provide support to other team members.

  • Minimum 2 years previous bookkeeping experience.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing functions
  • Intermediate to Advanced level Microsoft office suite

Preferred Skills and Attributes

  • Previous bookkeeping / MYOB experience
  • Previous experience in training environment

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephone and personal enquiries in a professional manner
  • Act as central contact with Sydney office
  • Direct or deal with enquiries as appropriate
  • Follow-up  training enquiries and registrations including drafting of relevant correspondence
  • Track course registrations and confirmations
  • Invoicing and communicating with training course delegates
  • Track accreditation test status
  • Maintain supply of training texts and accredited books
  • Provide support to trainers on day of training ie arrange refreshments, ensure room set up and is in order
  • Provide support to other team members including bookkeepers, accountants and Greg Thompson as required (includes diary management)
  • Consolidate weekly timesheet information & transfer to Sydney
  • Develop and produce Marketing Reports as directed
  • Distribution of Marketing Communications as directed
  • Produce Monthly Management Reports as directed
  • Maintain office in a tidy and professional manner (includes kitchen, emptying bins etc)
  • Arrange service calls etc as appropriate
  • Manage and reconcile petty cash
  • Banking
  • Mail collection, distribution, collation and postage.
  • Manage stationery & other supplies
  • Ensure procedures are maintained and up to date
  • Archiving- ensure documents are scanned and filed electronically (and on paper if appropriate)
  • Liaison and management of uniform supplies
  • Database management
  • Undertake daily computer shut down and back-up

Core Hours

8.30 to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday

Salary Range

Circa $32,000- $35,000 per annum including Superannuation.

Senior Bookkeeper

We are seeking a senior person to take responsibility for record keeping functions of a range of businesses in a variety of industries. There is some flexibility as to this role being full time or part time. In this role you will oversee the workflow of a team of bookkeepers and undertake quality review at month end to ensure accuracy of output.

It is an expectation of this role that you will travel to see various clients both within and outside the Darwin metropolitan area. Costs associated with travel (other than long distance intrastate and interstate travel) are considered [part of the package and will not be reimbursed separately.

Position Description

You will oversee the Bookkeeping and general office functions of the Darwin office including supervision and development of other bookkeepers and reception personnel.

In additrion, you will work autonomously on, and in, individual businesses and will be responsible for record keeping and associated functions including but not limited to:

Accounts Payable:

  • Processing from invoices and source records.
  • Processing payments and arranging payments.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations.

Accounts Receivables:

  • Inputting sales and debtor information from sales sub-ledgers to general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation.

Banking:

  • Data input to ledgers.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation of accounts.

Payroll:

  • Payroll including superannuation and maintenance of staff records (including entitlements). Arranging payments.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation.

Other:

  • Workers compensation, long service leave, PAYG-W, payroll tax, bureau of statistics.
  • Preparation and lodgement of remittances, declarations, etc.

Month end reporting

  • Prepare reports from which business activity statements will be prepared.
  • Standing monthly journals. Understand and prepare general journals.
  • Prepare management reports as specified.

Requirements:

Essential

  • Minimum 4 years Australian experience in work environments performing the above functions. Prepared to complete ICB exam and be successful at Level 2 or above.
  • Referees available to contact to confirm abilities in the above areas.
  • Current Australian driver’s licence and car.
  • MYOB experience in current versions. Quickbooks experience an advantage in current versions.
  • Ability to work to deadlines efficiently and in an organized manner as to job functions and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team with the ability to adapt to change.

This position is casual with hours subject to course dates scheduled.

Salary Range

Circa $200 - $300 per training day. Hourly rate to be agreed for accreditation follow-up and student mentoring.
